Jakhar Slams CM Mann for ‘arrogant’ Remarks on PM Modi

Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar has sharply criticised Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for what he described as “disgraceful and arrogant” remarks directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Jakhar said the remarks reflect a “complete loss of decorum” and alleged that the Chief Minister’s behaviour was unbecoming of the office he holds. He claimed that the “arrogance of power” had clouded Mann’s judgment.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Jakhar remarked, “Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ji, who knows better than you that when a person’s shadow grows larger than their stature, it means the sun is about to set, and when someone’s tongue outgrows their worth, it signifies the beginning of their downfall.”

He further recalled past controversies surrounding Mann, alleging that when he served as a Lok Sabha MP, fellow members had once complained to the Speaker about the “smell of alcohol” on him during a session. “Today, his words reek of arrogance,” Jakhar added.

The BJP leader said Punjab’s tradition is rooted in dignity and civilised political discourse, which he claims Mann has violated. Jakhar called on the Chief Minister to issue a public apology.

There has been no immediate response from Mann or the Aam Aadmi Party to Jakhar’s statement.
