Hyundai Motor India is scheduled to launch the Hyundai Bayon on October 26, with bookings open for Rs 11,000 through its website and authorised dealerships. Positioned between the Venue and Creta in the company’s SUV lineup, the model will feature Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and connected-car technology.
The India-spec SUV will be powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre, four-cylinder MPi petrol engine producing 115 PS and 143.8 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual gearbox and an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
On the safety front, the Bayon will offer six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX child-seat anchors. Hyundai has listed 35 standard safety features across variants, with more than 80 features available overall.
The SUV will feature 23 Level 2 Pro ADAS functions, supported by three radars and 12 parking sensors. These include forward collision warning and avoidance assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, highway driving assist and safe exit warning.
Inside, the Bayon will get two 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Its Connected Car Navigation Cockpit will use NVIDIA technology and support over-the-air updates for up to 19 vehicle controllers.
The model will also feature a generative AI voice assistant combining Perplexity AI intelligence with SoundHound AI voice technology. Hyundai Bluelink will provide more than 70 connected-car functions.
The Bayon will be available in 10 exterior colour finishes, including monotone, matte and dual-tone options. It will be built on Hyundai’s Global K Enhanced Platform, which uses advanced high-strength steel and hot-stamped structural components.
