Dharamshala hosts National IAS Conference, Boosting Himachal’s Profile as Event Destination
Dharamshala: Himachal Pradesh is emerging as a destination for national-level conferences alongside tourism, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said after inaugurating a national conference of IAS officers in Dharamshala.
Sukhu said the conference brought together IAS officers from across the country and would help strengthen Himachal Pradesh’s identity as a venue for national-level events.
He said the conference was organised by the Center’s Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). He added that such events benefit the state and promote its profile beyond tourism.
The chief minister said Union Minister Jitendra Singh was scheduled to attend the programme but later informed him over the phone that he would be unable to participate. Singh requested CM Sukhu to attend the conference, following which the chief minister joined the event.
