Himachal Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta has directed the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Real Estate Regulatory Authority to submit documents related to all Joint Development Agreement real estate projects within 15 days amid allegations of irregularities in land agreements in the state. The government has issued directions in connection with a probe into suspected violations of Section 118 of the Himachal Pradesh Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1972. Officials said the matter pertains to alleged irregularities in certain land agreements involving farmers from Himachal Pradesh and non agriculturists.

According to official information, the Chief Secretary has written to the Director General of the Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau seeking details and relevant records linked to the projects under scrutiny.

The communication also noted that information and documents had been sought from the Real Estate Regulatory Authority on several occasions earlier. However, the required records were not submitted despite repeated reminders.

The Vigilance Bureau has also been asked to examine whether the authority fulfilled its responsibilities under the RERA Act while assessing the financial capability and revenue records of promoters associated with the projects.

Officials said the reports from both agencies are expected within the stipulated 15 day period, following which further action may be considered by the state government.
