Tributes at Sector 45-B and Togan campuses on Monday; Funeral Mass at Togan church, cremation in Sector 25

Chandigarh, September 14

St Stephen’s School founder-director Harold Carver will be cremated in Chandigarh on Tuesday, with members of the school community paying their last respects at the institution’s Sector 45B and Togan campuses on Monday.

Carver’s mortal remains will be kept at the Sector 45B Auditorium from 9 am to 11 am for people to pay their last respects. They will then be taken to the Togan Auditorium, New Chandigarh, where tributes can be paid from 12 noon to 1 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of Our Lady of Miracles, Togan, at 1.30 pm, followed by cremation at the LPG Crematorium, Sector 25, Chandigarh, at 4 pm.

Carver, who founded and led St Stephen’s Schools, was remembered by the school community as an educationist and institution-builder who placed emphasis on discipline, character-building and the overall development of students.

Generations of students and teachers were influenced by his educational philosophy, with members of the school community recalling his role as a mentor as well as an administrator.
