Chandigarh, July 7

The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Haryana has gathered pace, with enumeration forms distributed to more than 96 percent of eligible voters across the state, officials said on Monday. The Election Commission’s revision exercise is being carried out to update the electoral rolls before the publication of the draft voter list later this month.
According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, more than 1.99 crore voters have received enumeration forms, covering 96.43 percent of the state’s electorate. Around 1.22 crore completed forms, accounting for 59.11 percent, have already been collected by Booth Level Officers and uploaded. Officials said every voter has been provided with two copies of the enumeration form. One signed copy must be submitted to the concerned Booth Level Officer, while the second copy, acknowledged by the officer, should be retained by the voter as proof of submission.
Chief Electoral Officer A Sreenivas said only those voters whose signed enumeration forms are received by the Booth Level Officer will be included in the draft electoral roll scheduled to be published on July 21. Voters who fail to submit the forms before the prescribed deadline will not be included in the draft list. Sreenivas appealed to all eligible voters to fill in the forms carefully, provide accurate information and submit them before the July 14 deadline. He also advised voters to collect the signed acknowledgment receipt from the Booth Level Officer after submitting the completed form.
The Chief Electoral Officer said voters can also submit their enumeration forms online through the Voters’ Service Portal. He further appealed to recognized political parties across the state to mobilize their Booth Level Agents to raise awareness among voters and help ensure that as many enumeration forms as possible are submitted within the stipulated time.
