Haryana CM reviews functioning of Samadhan camps; directs prompt, effective grievance redressal

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday conducted a detailed review of the Samadhan Shivirs being organised across the state to address public grievances, interacting directly with residents from multiple districts through video conferencing and directing officials to ensure prompt resolution of all pending complaints. Since the programme’s launch on June 10, 2024, nearly 1.5 lakh complaints have been received across Haryana, of which approximately 78 per cent have been resolved, according to an official statement.

The Samadhan Shivirs are held every Monday and Thursday at the offices of deputy commissioners and sub-divisional magistrates across all districts of the state. Complaints that can be settled on the spot are addressed immediately, while the remaining cases are generally resolved within one to two weeks, officials said.

During Thursday’s meeting, Saini listened to grievances from residents of several districts, examined unresolved cases from 2024, 2025 and 2026, and issued clear directions for their speedy disposal.

The chief minister also expressed serious concern over the absence of officials from some districts during the shivirs. Taking note specifically of non-attendance from the Mahendragarh district and the SDM office in Badshahpur, he directed all deputy commissioners and SDMs to remain personally present at the camps and hear public complaints directly. Strict instructions were issued to officers who have repeatedly failed to attend such meetings.

Saini further stated that a weekly review of the Samadhan camps is held every Friday and must be chaired by the concerned deputy commissioners in person. He stressed that officers are responsible for directly monitoring the resolution of pending complaints and cannot delegate this responsibility.

Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to responsive governance, the chief minister said public grievances must be addressed in a transparent, effective and time-bound manner, and that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.

Senior officials present at the meeting included Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, Director of the Women and Child Development Department Priyanka Soni and OSD to the Chief Minister B B Bharti.
