Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Monday announced the launch of the Pensioner Sewa Portal, a digital platform aimed at simplifying and streamlining pension-related services for around 3.15 lakh pensioners across the state. The portal — https://pensionersewa.punjab.gov.in — will automate pension disbursal workflows and offer six key services, including the submission of digital life certificates through the ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ mobile app, applications for family pension conversion, Leave Travel Concession (LTC) requests, and grievance redressal. Pensioners will also be able to update personal details and track their applications online.

Cheema said the system has been designed to be user-friendly, allowing pensioners to access services from home via mobile phones, computers, or by visiting Sewa Kendras, banks, and District Treasury Offices. The e-KYC process will be completed using Aadhaar authentication, ensuring secure and accurate verification.

For pensioners living abroad, Cheema clarified that the portal currently operates only within India, with manual life certificates continuing for NRIs until e-KYC services are expanded globally. To address initial registration or technical issues, a dedicated War Room has been set up at the Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts, with helpline numbers (18001802148, 01722996385, 01722996386) active on all working days. Training has already been provided to district and banking staff following a successful pilot phase.

Cheema said the initiative underscores the Mann government’s commitment to ensuring transparent and efficient pension delivery. “Our pensioners are our pride. This portal will make their lives easier and ensure that every retired employee receives timely and hassle-free service,” he said.
