A district administration team led by Kangra Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) Shilpi Bekta visited the Adi Himani Chamunda temple to review the ongoing construction work and assess the status of infrastructure development around the shrine.

During the visit, the team inspected the progress of the temple construction and discussed measures to improve facilities for devotees, particularly along the trekking routes leading to the shrine. The temple project has been under construction for a considerable period, and the administration’s visit was aimed at evaluating the remaining work and planning future development.

Speaking during the inspection, ADM Shilpi Bekta said that the main structure of the temple has been completed, while woodwork and decorative finishing are still pending. She added that the installation of solar panels at the site is also yet to be completed.

Bekta said a Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared for the beautification of the temple complex. However, since the surrounding area falls under forest land, any additional work will require prior approval from the Forest Department.

The administration also reviewed the condition of the trekking routes to Adi Himani Chamunda, which can be accessed through Jia and Kand Kardiyana. Officials discussed shortcomings in the pedestrian paths and explored ways to improve facilities for pilgrims.

The ADM said the district administration, in coordination with the Forest Department, plans to strengthen and improve the trekking route in the future. Water supply facilities at resting points, locally known as “Tiyalas,” will also be repaired and upgraded to enhance visitors’ convenience.

Addressing environmental concerns, Bekta said efforts will also be made to address garbage disposal in the temple area. Meetings will be held with representatives of the concerned panchayats and other stakeholders to formulate a plan to maintain cleanliness and prevent littering along both routes leading to the shrine.
