An elderly woman was allegedly robbed of two gold rings and a pair of earrings by a woman and a man near Qila Chowk in Patiala.
According to the information available, the duo had approached the house of a woman identified as Champa Devi on the pretext of renting a property. During the interaction, they allegedly overpowered the elderly woman and forcibly removed her earrings and two gold rings before fleeing.
After the incident came to light, police began investigating the matter. Officials are also working to identify and apprehend the suspects.
CCTV footage of the young man and woman allegedly fleeing the area have also surfaced.
The incident reportedly took place in a crowded part of Patiala during the daytime, raising concerns amongst the residents.
