Patiala-based senior advocate Davinder Rajput has sought police action over an AI-generated social media image allegedly depicting the Tricolour on footwear.
Patiala, August 18
A senior advocate from Patiala has submitted a complaint to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav against social media influencer Kritika Malik and her family, alleging that an AI-generated image shared on Independence Day showed the national flag in a disrespectful manner.
Advocate Davinder Rajput alleged that the image, shared by Kritika Malik on her social media account, showed her with her family and depicted the Tricolour on the heels of her footwear. The image was reportedly generated using artificial intelligence.
The post attracted objections from social media users, with comments objecting to the depiction of the national flag in a wrongful manner. The source material also states that some comments were carrying slogans in support of Pakistan and were visible below the post.
Rajput has sought strict action from the Punjab Police over the alleged disrespect to the national flag. He said that if the police did not take action on the complaint, he would approach the High Court and file a petition.
The allegations are contained in the complaint submitted to the Punjab DGP and do not constitute an established finding against Kritika Malik or her family.
