The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming municipal elections in Panchkula, Ambala, and Sonipat, with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini asserting that the party would fulfill every promise outlined in the document.

The manifesto was released in the presence of CM Saini, state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, cabinet ministers Vipul Goel, Krishna Pawar, and Ranbir Gangwa, Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma, and Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma.

Addressing the gathering, Saini described the party’s manifesto as “a sacred commitment,” adding that delivering on its promises is the government’s responsibility. He noted that the BJP’s 2024 manifesto had outlined 217 pledges and said the government, now about one-and-a-half years into its tenure, is actively working to implement each of them.

Highlighting the concept of a “triple-engine government”—spanning the Centre, state, and local bodies—Saini said the new civic poll manifesto includes 20 key commitments. He also proposed adding an additional pledge focused on developing “Green Cities,” emphasizing plantation drives across urban areas.

“We will fulfill all 21 commitments. These promises are inclusive and cater to every section of society, including women,” the Chief Minister said.

Saini also pointed to welfare initiatives beyond the manifesto, mentioning efforts to ensure housing for all. He said the government is working to provide both plots and constructed houses under the CM Urban Housing Scheme. According to him, around 1.6 lakh houses have been built across rural and urban Haryana.

He further claimed that the state has been declared open defecation-free under the Swachh Bharat Mission and asserted that Panchkula has witnessed significant development since 2014. In a political swipe, Saini criticized governments in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, alleging they failed to fulfill promises made to their citizens. He cited unfulfilled commitments regarding financial support for women and delays in employee salary payments.

Reiterating confidence in the BJP’s governance model, Saini said, “The guarantees given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are always fulfilled.” Following the manifesto launch, several leaders from different parties across Haryana joined the BJP, with the state president welcoming them into the party fold.
