In a move aimed at strengthening global academic and media linkages, the University Institute of Media Studies (UIMS) at Chandigarh University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Radio Haanji Australia to expand international opportunities for students in journalism, radio, and digital media.
The agreement was formally signed by Gautam Kapil, Director and Sydney Head of Radio Haanji, and Prof. Dr. Satbir Singh Sehgal, Registrar and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Chandigarh University, in the presence of senior faculty members and media studies officials.
Under the collaboration, both institutions will work together to facilitate internships, workshops, guest lectures, and joint media projects. The initiative is expected to bridge classroom learning with real-world industry practices, giving students direct exposure to global media environments and diaspora-focused broadcasting.
University representatives emphasized that such partnerships are essential in equipping students with practical skills and global perspectives in an evolving media landscape. Radio Haanji Australia, known for its strong outreach within the Indian diaspora, highlighted the importance of engaging young media professionals to create innovative content for multicultural audiences.
The MoU reflects Chandigarh University’s continued efforts to strengthen industry engagement and international academic cooperation in media education.
