Dr. Swami Shri Shridharacharya Ji Maharaj, head of the International Shri Rangramanuj Peeth, has strongly condemned a reported incident involving the shipment of beef disguised as chicken from Amritsar. In a statement, he expressed deep concern, calling the act an affront to religious sentiments and a direct attack on Punjab’s spiritual and cultural heritage.

Swami Shridharacharya said that the confirmation of beef being sent from a sacred city like Amritsar points to the ongoing practice of cow slaughter in Punjab. He emphasized that this violates India’s religious and cultural values, as well as constitutional provisions designed to protect cow progeny.

Swami Shridharacharya called for an immediate high-level investigation and the harshest punishment for those involved. He warned that failure to address the issue would threaten Punjab’s religious and cultural identity. “These acts don’t just hurt religious sentiments; they create societal division,” he stated, stressing that strict legal action must be taken to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Swami Shridharacharya underlined that cow slaughter is not merely a legal issue but a matter of India’s spiritual identity. “In Sanatan Dharma, the cow is revered as a mother. Killing her is an attack on Indian culture.” He also appealed to saints, cow protectors, religious leaders, and social organizations to unite in raising awareness and ensuring the protection of cows. He concluded by warning that neglecting cow slaughter in Punjab could lead to a larger crisis and urged both the government and society to take decisive action in defense of India’s cultural values.

Present at the occasion were Krishna Kumar Atri, Ashok Pandit Ji, Acharya Abhinav Tiwari, Sahil Shukla, Govind Upadhyay, and Krishna Pandey, among others.
