Himachal to see wet spell till April 30, yellow alert issued for storms

Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience a wet spell till April 30, with the Shimla Meteorological Center issuing a yellow warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in several districts on April 25 and 28.

According to the weather office, gusty winds of 40-50 kmph are expected at isolated places in districts including Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur during the warning period.

The weather remained largely dry across the state, though light rainfall was recorded at a few locations. Sangla received 0.4 mm of rain, Kalpa 0.1 mm, while traces were reported in Wangtoo.

Temperature variations were also recorded across the state. Kukumseri was the coldest place with a night temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius, while Una recorded the highest daytime temperature at 41.4 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Center has advised caution in vulnerable areas as weather conditions are expected to remain unsettled over the coming days.
