New Delhi, April 21

Ahead of the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army on Tuesday reaffirmed its firm resolve to combat terrorism, stating that decisive action follows when “boundaries of humanity are crossed”.

On April 22 last year, 26 people, most of them tourists, were killed in the attack at Pahalgam in south Kashmir. The incident had triggered widespread condemnation across India and from the international community.

In the aftermath of the attack, India launched a military operation in early May targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Army, in a post on X ahead of the anniversary, said, “When boundaries of humanity are crossed, the response is decisive. Justice is served. India stands united,” underlining its message with themes of justice and national unity.

The post was accompanied by a symbolic digital graphic highlighting the message that certain boundaries must never be crossed, reinforcing the Army’s stance on responding firmly to acts of terror.

The military response last year led to a brief but intense confrontation between India and Pakistan, which lasted for several days before both sides reached an understanding to halt hostilities.

The Army’s latest message signals continued vigilance and preparedness while reaffirming its commitment to counterterrorism and safeguarding national security.
