The Juvenile Justice Board has ordered the removal of videos circulating on social media in connection with an alleged assault involving a six-year-old girl at a government school in Panchkula. The development comes after the eight-year-old boy accused in the incident was granted bail.
The incident reportedly took place on October 28, when the boy allegedly attacked the girl with a brick and struck her against a bench. The allegations relate to an incident inside a government school in Panchkula.
Meanwhile, the girl’s father approached the Juvenile Justice Board under Section 74, seeking the removal of videos, photographs and other related material circulating on social media and public platforms.
The petition sought directions to the investigating officer to ensure that all such content was removed. It also highlighted concerns that the material could reveal the identity of the child allegedly involved in the incident.
The petitioner’s plea emphasised the need to protect the confidentiality of the juvenile and prevent the disclosure of identity through photographs and videos shared online.
The circulation of the material had raised concerns regarding the privacy of the children involved in the case.
