The Humility, Kindness & Love (HKL) Global Movement will organise an awareness walk in Chandigarh’s Sector 17 market on October 31, 2026, to promote compassion, empathy and community spirit.
The walk will take place from 4 pm to 6 pm, with participants gathering at the Sector 17 Fountain before embarking on an approximately two-kilometre route through the market. More than 400 volunteers and members of the movement from across the world are expected to participate. Members of the public can join the initiative free of charge, without prior registration.
The initiative aims to encourage people to embrace the values of humility, kindness and love in their everyday lives. By taking the message directly to one of Chandigarh’s busiest public spaces, the movement hopes to foster meaningful interactions and inspire people to build stronger connections within their communities.
Flowers, conversations to spread message of kindness
As part of the walk, volunteers will distribute flowers and kindness cards and engage with residents, shoppers and visitors to promote empathy and positivity. The initiative seeks to highlight how small gestures, thoughtful conversations and a willingness to understand others can make a meaningful difference in everyday life.
Rather than relying solely on speeches and slogans, the movement aims to communicate its philosophy through simple acts of kindness, encouraging people to practise these values at home, in workplaces and across their communities.
The Chandigarh event comes amid the movement’s expanding international outreach. According to the organisers, more than 200 HKL walks have been held across 14 countries over the past three months. The HKL Global Movement, which has members in 103 countries, promotes self-reflection and personal growth as ways to nurture a more compassionate world.
The awareness walk is expected to bring together volunteers and members of the public from different backgrounds around a shared message of positivity and human connection.
As Sector 17 prepares to host the gathering, the initiative seeks to remind residents that meaningful change can begin with simple gestures — a flower, a kind word or a moment of understanding.
