A Bulgarian tourist died in a paragliding accident near Rising Star Peak in Khaniyara, Dharamshala, on Sunday, October 25, while another foreign national was rescued safely. Strong winds are suspected to have contributed to the accident.

The deceased has been identified as Maxim Valentinovich Gavrilichenko, who arrived in India on October 7 on a tourist visa. He was paragliding solo alongside his friend, identified as Stephen Antony, when the incident occurred between 3 pm and 3.30 pm.
