Power, defence, automobiles, home furnishing and real estate among key sectors for industrial cooperation
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will visit Sweden from October 14 to 17 to attract investment, strengthen industrial partnerships and explore technology-transfer opportunities across key sectors, including power, home furnishing, real estate, defence and automobiles.
During the four-day visit, Saini will meet the Swedish government representatives, industrial groups, business organisations and potential investors to explore avenues for economic cooperation, industrial collaboration and employment generation.
A key highlight will be his participation in India-Sweden Innovation Day 2026 on October 15, where he will address policymakers, industry leaders, innovators and business representatives. A dedicated session on Haryana will showcase the state’s industrial strengths, infrastructure, policies and investment opportunities.
Saini is also scheduled to meet Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Benjamin Dousa, to discuss bilateral economic and industrial cooperation.
The discussions will focus on renewable energy, energy-efficient technologies, furniture manufacturing, defence production, advanced automotive manufacturing, electric mobility and auto components. Haryana will also explore joint ventures, research partnerships and opportunities to integrate micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) into international supply chains.
Real estate development, sustainable housing and urban infrastructure will also feature on the agenda. The visit will explore potential sister-city partnerships between urban centres in Haryana and Sweden, focusing on urban planning, waste management, water conservation, public transport and sustainable development.
Other areas of discussion will include technology transfer, automation, digital technologies, research and development, and industry-oriented skill training.
The CM will also participate in business roundtables and interact with industry representatives, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, potential investors and members of the Indian diaspora in Sweden.
Coordinated with the Embassy of India in Sweden, the visit aims to identify investment opportunities, strengthen industrial linkages and promote long-term cooperation in manufacturing, technology and sustainable urban development.
