Amphitheatre-style set featuring tablets, giant screens, status lights & circular LED floor to host 100 contestants
Mumbai, September 2
Star Plus’ upcoming quiz show “India Ke Top 1%” has unveiled its massive amphitheatre-style arena, bringing together 100 contestants from diverse backgrounds for a high-tech quiz experience hosted by Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor.
The contestants include students, homemakers, shopkeepers, YouTubers, magicians and real estate agents, representing both rural towns and major cities. Cameras positioned across the arena are designed to capture every reaction, from nervous expressions to moments of celebration.
The set features 100 individual tablets, allowing contestants to participate in either Hindi or English. Giant screens keep the contestants connected to the action, while individual status lights reflect their progress throughout the game. A circular LED floor is one of the arena’s key features. It displays gameplay graphics and changing percentage levels as contestants move closer to the Top 1%.
Designer Varsha Jain said the team explored several design options for nearly two to three months before finalising the arena. The set was then constructed within a month with the involvement of hundreds of people. She said the individual status lighting and circular LED floor were among the set’s biggest highlights. The design was intended to combine a glossy, futuristic appearance with a warm, colourful and inviting atmosphere, Jain added.
“India Ke Top 1%” is scheduled to premiere on September 19 at 8 pm on Star Plus and JioHotstar.
