Godrej Enterprises Group has entered the micro-drama space with “2nd Gen Kumars”, an eight-episode Instagram series exploring contemporary Indian family relationships through an ensemble cast featuring Naman Arora, Shreya Gupto, Rushad Rana and Ekavali Khanna.
The story follows Tara, a 30-year-old woman who returns from Hong Kong to Mumbai and invites her cousins to her new home. What begins as a housewarming gathering gradually brings unresolved differences, sibling comparisons, childhood memories and difficult choices to the surface.
Each episode runs for about two minutes, examining how family relationships change as individuals grow apart and build independent lives.
The home serves as the central setting, with products from the group’s consumer businesses, including digital locks, home lockers, furniture and appliances, integrated into the narrative.
Sumeet Bhojani, Head of Brand and Strategic Insights at Godrej Enterprises Group, said the series aimed to portray modern Indian experiences through a contemporary storytelling format. He said it was also the first time the group’s digital locks, home lockers, furniture and home appliances had been brought together in a single content format.
The initiative reflects the group’s effort to explore digital-first formats as entertainment consumption increasingly shifts towards mobile platforms. The first episode is available on the group’s Instagram account, with subsequent episodes set to continue the story.
Bonfire Collective handled the creative and production work.
Founded in 1897, Godrej Enterprises Group operates across consumer and industrial businesses, including aerospace, advanced engineering, energy solutions, security solutions, appliances, furniture and digital technologies.
