Kangra Bar Association says bench would ease travel burden for people from remote areas and improve access to justice.

Dharamshala , August 27

Kangra District Bar Association president Ankur Soni on Thursday expressed gratitude to former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and former Union Minister Shanta Kumar for once again raising the long-standing demand for establishing a High Court bench in Dharamshala.

Soni said setting up a High Court bench in Dharamshala would provide significant relief to people from Kangra, Chamba and other remote areas of the state, who currently have to travel to Shimla to seek justice.

He said the move would make access to justice more convenient for people living in distant and difficult-to-reach areas and reduce the hardship and expenses associated with traveling to Shimla for legal proceedings.

The Kangra District Bar Association, Dharamshala, reaffirmed its commitment to the demand and urged the Central Government to consider the matter sympathetically and take positive steps towards establishing a High Court bench in Dharamshala.
