BJP leader Purushottam Guleria targets Congress over taxes and public issues, says party ready for 2027 polls

Himachal Pradesh BJP Joint Cells convenor Purushottam Guleria on Tuesday claimed that the BJP would return to power in the state after the 2027 Assembly elections, alleging that people were fed up with the Congress government.

Addressing a joint meeting of BJP cells in Kullu district at Dev Sadan in Dhalpur, Guleria accused the Congress government of failing to address the problems of the common people and alleged that various taxes had increased their financial burden.

He said BJP workers were raising public grievances before the government and claimed that the party was fully prepared for the 2027 Assembly elections.

The meeting was attended by BJP state vice-president Bihari Lal, former minister Govind Singh Thakur and other party workers.

Guleria said there were earlier 19 BJP cells in Kullu district and six additional cells had recently been formed, taking the total to 25. The meeting was attended by office-bearers of all the cells and focused on strengthening the party organisation.

He alleged that the Congress had misled people with false promises since coming to power. Guleria claimed that people had now understood the “truth” and would not be influenced by the Congress in the next Assembly elections.

He said the BJP was strengthening its grassroots organisational network and was prepared to take up public issues ahead of the 2027 polls.
