Sarveen Chaudhary targets congress government over failing to fulfill poll promises

BJP leader accuses Congress of failing to fulfil poll promises, neglecting roads and mistreating government employees and senior officials.

Former Himachal Pradesh minister and BJP leader Sarveen Chaudhary has launched a sharp attack on the Congress government, accusing it of failing to address the basic issues of the state.

Chaudhary alleged that the Congress had made several promises ahead of the elections, including providing Rs 1,500 per month to women, purchasing cow dung, increasing milk prices and reducing electricity bills. She said most of these promises remained unfulfilled even as the government’s tenure was nearing four years.

She also criticised the government over the condition of roads in the state, alleging that it lacked adequate funds even for their repair. Several roads, she claimed, had not been resurfaced for a long time.

Comparing the two governments, Chaudhary said the BJP regime had focused on maintaining basic facilities such as roads, water supply and electricity. She alleged that the present government had failed to maintain the same level of infrastructure.

On the issue of government employees, Chaudhary said employees dedicate their entire working lives to public service, and pension becomes an important source of financial security after retirement. She said timely payment of pensions was their right.

Chaudhary further claimed that the BJP government had maintained a cordial relationship with employees and held discussions with them to resolve their grievances and seek their cooperation.

Taking a swipe at the Congress government’s alleged treatment of officers and employees, she said some people in the government address senior officials disrespectfully.
