Dharamshala, June 6
Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma on Saturday questioned the state government over the reported closure of the social media accounts of Neeraj Bharti and Himachal Pradesh High Court advocate Vinay Sharma, describing the issue as serious and seeking a public clarification from the Chief Minister.
Speaking to reporters in Dharamshala, Sharma said the Facebook account of Neeraj Bharti, son of former CPS and ex-Agriculture Minister Professor Chaudhary Chander Kumar, had reportedly been shut down. He also referred to reports claiming that the social media account of advocate Vinay Sharma had been closed.
“If such actions are being taken, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu should come forward and clarify the matter publicly,” Sharma said.
The BJP MLA further alleged that concerns about governance were being raised within the Congress party itself. According to him, several Congress leaders have expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s functioning, claiming that not only are public issues unresolved, but even elected legislators are having difficulty getting their work addressed.
Sharma said these developments raise questions about the state government’s functioning. He claimed that criticism of the Congress government is now emerging both from within the party and from outside.
Alleging misuse of government resources, Sharma said state resources were being used to strengthen the Congress party, which he termed a matter of concern.
The state government has not yet responded to the allegations.
