Authorities in Kangra district have completed preparations for the upcoming UPSC examination scheduled to be held on May 24 at six centres in Dharamshala.

According to officials, a total of 1,935 candidates are expected to appear for the examination, which will be conducted in two sessions. The morning session will be held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, while the afternoon session will be held from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

To ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examination, elaborate security arrangements have been put in place. Police personnel will be deployed at all examination centres, and signal jammers along with Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) will also be installed.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) Kangra, Shilpi Bekta, said all necessary preparations had been completed and urged candidates to reach their centres well before time. She informed that the entry gates for the morning session would close at 9 am, and that candidates arriving after 2 pm for the afternoon session would not be allowed to enter.

She further said that each examination centre would have a centre supervisor and a liaison officer, while two invigilators would be deployed in every examination room. Fifty per cent of the examination staff will be sourced internally, while the remaining staff will be sourced from other institutions.

Male and female constables will also be stationed at centres for frisking and security checks, officials said. The Divisional Commissioner of Kangra has been appointed as the observer for the examination.
