Panchkula, May 2
The Congress party on Saturday released its manifesto for the upcoming municipal corporation elections in Panchkula, outlining key promises focused on urban development and civic infrastructure. Haryana Congress president Rao Narender, MLA Chandermohan Bishnoi, and mayoral candidate Sudha Bhardwaj were present at the event.
Addressing the gathering, Rao Narender said that if the Congress candidate is elected mayor, the party will work towards transforming Panchkula into a smart city. He highlighted plans to improve cleanliness, strengthen road infrastructure, and address other pressing civic issues.
He asserted that the party is committed to fulfilling all promises made in the manifesto and will prioritize resolving public grievances.
Rao Narender also criticized the BJP government over the recent increase in commercial LPG cylinder prices. He said the hike would place an additional burden on small business owners and those earning their livelihood through small scale work.
The manifesto release comes as political activity intensifies in the run up to the municipal elections in the city.
