Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the Bharatiya Janata Party functions like a family and all leaders will fight elections together, as he reached out to party members upset over municipal poll ticket distribution.
Amid discontent, several former BJP councillors have filed nominations as independent candidates after being denied tickets. Senior leaders are making efforts to persuade them to withdraw. Saini met former councillor Sonia Sood, who is contesting as an independent, and also visited former councillor Ritu Goyal in Ward 3 to hold discussions.
He highlighted the party’s work over the past 11 years and said opportunities are given to workers at every level. He added that the mayoral candidate, Shyamlal Bansal, had long served the party and was given a chance despite not expecting a ticket. Saini also referred to major decisions taken by the central government, including the abrogation of Article 370.
