Himachal Jal Shakti Vibhag rolls out e-Office in 101 offices

In a push towards digital governance, the Himachal Pradesh Jal Shakti Vibhag has implemented the e-Office platform across 101 offices in the state, aiming to streamline administrative processes and improve efficiency, according to an official statement issued on Sunday.

Deputy Chief Minister and Jal Shakti Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said the department has achieved its target of going digital within the stipulated timeline. He said the initiative has accelerated administrative operations and strengthened the department’s overall digital transformation. He described the move as a historic step that will enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu welcomed the initiative and said that departmental communication is now conducted through the e-Office platform, marking a shift towards paperless operations.

Secretary of the Jal Shakti Vibhag, Abhishek Jain, said that completing the rollout within the set timeframe reflects the commitment and dedication of the department’s officers and employees.

The e-Office system has been implemented across key offices, including those at the chief engineer level, circle offices, and executive engineer offices. With this transition, official file movement from field offices to the Secretariat and onwards to the minister’s office and the Chief Minister’s Office is now being conducted digitally.

The move is expected to improve coordination, reduce ,decision-making delays, and strengthen governance through technology, signaling the state government’s continued focus on administrative reforms.
