Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will lead a high-level delegation to Japan and South Korea in early December as part of an international outreach effort to attract investment ahead of the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit in March 2026.
The delegation, which includes Industries and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora, senior officials and representatives from Invest Punjab, will visit Tokyo, Osaka and Seoul for meetings with global companies and industry organisations. The programme is being coordinated with India’s embassies in Japan and South Korea, as well as Invest India and partner institutions.
Officials say the state will present Punjab as a leading investment destination in North India, emphasising its connectivity to NCR and major ports, industrial clusters, reliable power supply and skilled workforce. The delegation will also highlight governance reforms, including the FastTrack Punjab single-window system, auto-deemed approvals and changes to the Punjab Right to Business Act aimed at speeding up clearances.
Punjab will showcase its industrial infrastructure, including plug-and-play parks and the upcoming Integrated Manufacturing Cluster at Rajpura, alongside details of more than ₹1.4 trillion in investments facilitated through Invest Punjab.
Chief Minister Mann said the government’s objective was to offer policy stability, timely decision-making and an investor-friendly regulatory environment. He added that Punjab’s industrial policy, introduced in 2022, had been shaped in consultation with business leaders, and sector-specific committees were working to refine it further.
Through roadshows, business meetings and engagements with major corporations, the delegation hopes to attract investment from Japanese and South Korean firms in sectors including mobility, electronics, semiconductors, textiles, green energy and advanced manufacturing. Diaspora interactions are also planned in Tokyo, Osaka and Seoul.
The visit follows earlier outreach activities, including roundtables with Japan, the GCC and CIS countries, and domestic roadshows in cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai.
Industries Minister Arora said the mission would help forge new economic partnerships and strengthen ties with existing foreign investors. The Chief Minister added that such initiatives were essential to positioning Punjab as a hub for trade, investment and long-term industrial growth ahead of the 2026 summit.
