Chandigarh, September 27
The Punjab Police have extradited Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) member Parminder Singh, also known as Pindi, from Abu Dhabi to India in a joint operation with central agencies and the United Arab Emirates. DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday that Pindi was a close aide of foreign-based militants Harwinder Singh Rinda and Happy Passia. He is involved in petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults and extortion rackets in Punjab’s Batala–Gurdaspur region. The operation followed a Red Corner Notice initiated by Batala Police. A four-member team led by a senior officer travelled to the UAE on September 24, coordinated with the Ministry of External Affairs and UAE authorities, and completed legal procedures to bring the suspect back to India. “This successful extradition underscores Punjab Police’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and organised crime as well as its global reach,” Yadav said in a statement on X, adding that the police appreciated the support of central agencies, the External Affairs Minister and the UAE government.
