Punjab Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian said that the state’s flood situation has stabilised, with all 219 relief camps now closed and displaced families returning to their homes. At the peak of flooding, the camps housed more than 8,000 people across Punjab. Since 1 August, 23,340 residents have been evacuated from marooned and vulnerable areas. Mundian on Tuesday further said that essential supplies, including food, medicines and sanitation support, would continue to reach affected families. Floods this season have impacted 22 districts and 2,555 villages, affecting nearly 390,000 people. Officials reported 57 deaths and four people remain missing. Crop damage has been assessed at nearly 200,000 hectares, with further losses to livestock and infrastructure still being tallied.

Mundian said rescue efforts had involved NDRF, SDRF, Army, Navy and BSF teams, supported by boats and manpower. District authorities also ensured drinking water, food packets, medical care and veterinary assistance.
