Six pilgrims dead, five missing after pickup plunges into Sirhind canal

Six pilgrims have died and five others are missing after a Mahindra pickup vehicle carrying 24 people plunged into the Sirhind canal near bridge on Malerkotla road, late on Sunday night. The pilgrims were returning to their native village, Manakwal, in Ludhiana district after offering prayers at the Mata Naina Devi temple in Himachal Pradesh. Emergency teams were dispatched immediately after the accident was reported, and a search operation is underway to locate the missing persons.
