Sacred Heart School annual function focuses on nature, spiritual harmony

Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, Chandigarh, celebrated its Annual Function 2026 on Thursday with a musical ballet highlighting environmental preservation, human responsibility and spiritual harmony.

Titled The Awakening: A Sacred Symphony, the presentation marked two significant milestones, the 125th anniversary of the Clarist Franciscan Missionaries of the Most Blessed Sacrament (CFMSS) in India and the 800th Transitus Centenary of Saint Francis of Assisi, patron saint of ecology.

The event was attended by Rakesh Arya, IPS, Inspector General, Crime Branch, Haryana Police, as the Chief Guest, while Dr Sulbha Arya was the Guest of Honour. Principal Rev. Sr Venita Joseph welcomed the dignitaries along with members of the school management, faculty and students.

The musical ballet revolved around five elements of nature — Sky, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. Through choreography, dramatic performances and choral music, primary school students portrayed the impact of human activities and technological advancement on ecological balance.

One of the key segments highlighted the dual nature of technology, emphasising that innovation must be guided by wisdom and restraint to ensure it remains beneficial to humanity.

The presentation also drew inspiration from the teachings of Saint Francis of Assisi, conveying a message of protecting and preserving the planet for future generations.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Rakesh Arya appreciated the school management and students for presenting a performance that combined artistic expression with an important social message.

Principal Rev. Sr Venita Joseph thanked the dignitaries, parents, teachers and students for their contribution to the event. She reiterated the school’s commitment to nurturing responsible citizens guided by faith and environmental stewardship.
