Kullu, June 8
Former President of India Ram Nath Kovind highly lauded the global welfare initiatives of the Vishwa Jagriti Mission, emphasizing the critical need for humanity to reconnect with the natural world to resolve contemporary crises. Speaking at a special event organized by the institution at Ghurdaur in Kullu district, Kovind remarked that the mission is selflessly working across the globe to guide individuals toward a harmonious relationship with nature, transforming millions of lives in the process. The former President arrived in Kullu on Monday for a four-day private visit, during which he took a detailed briefing on the various socio-spiritual programs spearheaded by the organization.
Addressing the gathering, Kovind expressed deep concern over humanity’s increasing alienation from the environment, attributing modern adversities—ranging from severe pandemics to frequent natural disasters—to this growing ecological imbalance. He stressed that individuals must actively seek the solace of nature, adopting its inherent discipline to ensure comprehensive global well-being. Reflecting on his visit, the former President shared that his profound interest in the mission’s grassroots work prompted him to accept their invitation, allowing him to engage in extensive spiritual dialogues with the organization’s founder, Guru Sudhanshu Maharaj.
Captivated by the region’s serene landscape, Kovind described Himachal Pradesh as a true Devbhoomi (Land of the Gods), noting that being in the state feels like resting in the lap of nature. He concluded his address by affirming his commitment to participate in the mission’s future endeavors whenever possible, while strongly urging global citizens to cherish, protect, and responsibly utilize the invaluable natural gifts bestowed upon mankind.
