The United States will lift longstanding restrictions to deepen civil nuclear cooperation with India, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced on Monday. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NSA Ajit Doval.
Sullivan said the Biden administration has updated U.S. missile export control policies under the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), paving the way for enhanced commercial space collaboration between the two nations.
He also outlined efforts to delist Indian nuclear entities from U.S. control lists, a move aimed at fostering civil nuclear cooperation and strengthening clean energy supply chains. “This reflects the progress both nations have made—and will continue to make—as strategic partners committed to peaceful nuclear collaboration,” Sullivan stated.
