Shimla, July 23
Three private schools in Shimla, received bomb threats through email on Wednesday, prompting emergency responses and sweeping searches by bomb disposal squads. Police and administrative officials moved swiftly, cordoning off the school premises and deploying bomb detection units. After an extensive search, authorities confirmed that no explosive materials were found. All three schools resumed normal functioning shortly after, with students returning to classrooms.
Officials say the threats are being treated with utmost seriousness, and a forensic cyber investigation has been launched to trace the source of the emails. This is not an isolated incident. Similar hoax threats have previously targeted key institutions in Shimla, including the Himachal Pradesh High Court,. In each case, the alerts were found to be baseless but caused significant disruption. The Shimla Police have asked the public to remain calm, while reiterating that steps are being taken to track down those responsible for these repeated false alarms.
