Voting for the third and final phase of the Panchayati Raj elections progressed peacefully across Kangra district on Sunday, with voters turning out in large numbers. Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma cast his vote at Rakkar Primary School alongside his mother and highlighted the importance of grassroots democracy.

Speaking to the media after voting, Sharma described Panchayati Raj institutions as the foundation of democratic governance and expressed confidence that capable representatives would emerge from the electoral process. He stressed the critical role Panchayats play in implementing government schemes and driving rural development.

The BJP leader also emphasized the need for Panchayats to prioritize cleanliness and community welfare, urging elected representatives to work with honesty and dedication for overall village development.

Commenting on the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation elections, Sharma claimed that BJP candidates had effectively connected with voters and asserted that the party was on course to secure a full majority. He said the electorate had voted with the city’s long-term development in mind despite political attacks from rivals.

Looking ahead, Sharma expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects for the 2027 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, stating that the party would continue to strengthen its outreach and performance among voters.
