Chandigarh, October 3
The Indian Youth Congress on Thursday denied any connection to Tushar Goyal, one of the accused in the ₹5,600 crore drug bust, following allegations from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). National Media in-charge of the Congress’s youth wing, Varun Pandey said Goyal was expelled from the party in October 2022, and information in this regard was shared through a press release.
Pandey dismissed the BJP’s claims that Goyal headed the RTI cell of the Delhi wing of the Indian Youth Congress and warned of legal action for spreading false information. He accused the BJP of making baseless allegations due to nervousness ahead of the October 8 election results. Delhi Police seized the drugs and arrested four individuals, including Goyal, in connection with the case.
