Punjabi singer Harbeer Singh Sohal arrested with 5.1 kg heroin in Khanna

Punjabi singer Harbeer Singh Sohal was arrested by Khanna Police with 5.1 kilograms of heroin during a major anti-drug operation in Punjab. Police also recovered ₹1.5 lakh in alleged drug money and a Mahindra Thar vehicle from his possession. Officials said Sohal was allegedly working as a courier in an international drug trafficking network.

According to police, the drug racket has links extending to Australia and Canada and was allegedly being operated by Gurjant Singh alias Janta from Australia. Investigators also found suspected connections between the network and the gang of deceased gangster Jaipal Bhullar. Sohal is originally from Bhindi Saidan village in Amritsar and was currently residing in Kharar, Mohali.

Darpan Ahluwalia said the investigation began on March 7, 2026, during routine checking by Doraha Police, when a man identified as Akshay Kumar was first arrested with 301 grams of heroin. Police added that Sohal had earlier been arrested by Mohali Police in 2022 in connection with an extortion and illegal arms case.
