Institutions told to rectify deficiencies, forward complete cases by September 14; 2.45 lakh applications already verified

The Punjab Government has reopened the Dr Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship Portal till September 17 to complete verification of pending fresh and renewal applications of Scheduled Caste students for the 2025-26 academic session, Cabinet Minister Dr Baljit Kaur said on Thursday.
Under the revised schedule, educational institutions have been directed to rectify deficiencies and forward complete cases to the sanctioning authorities by September 14. The sanctioning authorities will forward online proposals to the departments concerned by September 16, while the latter will submit verified proposals to the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities by September 17.
Dr Baljit Kaur said the extension was the final opportunity for students, institutions and authorities to complete pending verification and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive scholarship benefits.
The government has set a target of benefitting 2.70 lakh SC students under the scheme during the 2025-26 academic session. According to the minister, as many as 2,45,154 cases have already been verified, while the state has released its 40 per cent share for 2,41,970 students.
She urged students, educational institutions, sanctioning authorities and departments to complete all pending formalities within the revised deadlines.
