New Delhi, May 23
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates during a virtual ‘Rozgar Mela’ event organised across 47 locations in India. Addressing the recruits, Modi said the country’s youth would play a major role in achieving the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” or developed India. He said the newly appointed candidates would contribute to sectors including railways, banking, defence, health and education.
The prime minister described the Rozgar Mela initiative as part of the government’s commitment to expanding employment opportunities and empowering young people.
Since the launch of the programme, around 1.2 million appointment letters have been issued through 18 Rozgar Mela events nationwide, according to officials.
The selected candidates will join various central government ministries and departments, including railways, home affairs, health and family welfare, financial services and higher education.
