Panchkula, August 6
The Panchkula Municipal Corporation has urged property owners to clear pending property tax dues from 2010-11 to 2024-25 by August 31, 2026, to avail a 75 percent one-time waiver on interest offered by the government.
Municipal Commissioner Vinay Kumar said the special waiver scheme will remain valid till August 31, 2026, and only those who pay within the deadline will be eligible for the benefit.
He said property tax facilitation and correction camps are being organized across different wards and villages from July 16 to August 31, where residents can have errors corrected and pay pending tax.
The commissioner said the initiative aims to provide convenience to citizens and encourage voluntary tax payment. He appealed to all property owners to clear their dues on time and benefit from the interest waiver.
Vinay Kumar added that the municipal corporation has prepared a list of property owners who have not paid house tax for a long period. Notices have already been issued to several defaulters, but many are yet to clear their dues.
He warned that final notices will be issued to those who fail to pay pending taxes. If payments are still not made, legal action will be initiated under the Municipal Corporation Act, and the concerned property owners will be held responsible.
The civic body appealed to citizens to pay their outstanding property tax before August 31, 2026, and avoid possible legal action.
