Special checking drive targets overloaded school autos as police urge drivers and parents to prioritise children’s safety.

Panchkula Police has intensified action against overloaded autos carrying school children, challaning seven vehicles and impounding four during a special checking drive near a government school in Sector 21.
Acting on the directions of Police Commissioner IPS Pankaj Nain, the traffic police inspected under the supervision of DCP Crime and Traffic IPS Amarinder Singh and City Traffic SHO Varinder Singh.During the drive, seven autos found carrying children beyond their permitted capacity were issued challans, while four violating vehicles were impounded and taken to the Sector 21 police post.
Police Commissioner Pankaj Nain said overloading in vehicles transporting schoolchildren would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed traffic officials to maintain strict surveillance and take firm action against violators. Police also appealed to parents to check the condition of vehicles used by their children and ensure that they are not overcrowded. Parents were urged to report any safety violations to the police.
