The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, expressed her condolences on the passing of veteran industrialist Ratan Tata, emphasizing that India has lost an icon who harmonized corporate growth with nation-building and excellence with ethics. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, she stated, “In the sad demise of Shri Ratan Tata, India has lost an icon who blended corporate growth with nation building, and excellence with ethics.”
Murmu highlighted Tata’s achievements as a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan awards, noting how he advanced the Tata legacy and enhanced its global presence. She praised Tata for inspiring both seasoned professionals and young students alike, adding that his contributions to philanthropy and charity are invaluable. The President conveyed her condolences to Tata’s family, the entire Tata Group team, and his admirers worldwide.
