India has asked Bangladesh to investigate the theft of a crown gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple in Satkhira during his 2021 visit. The High Commission of India in Bangladesh issued a stern message, expressing deep concern over the theft. “We have seen reports of the theft of the crown gifted by PM Modi to the Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple. We urge the Government of Bangladesh to investigate the incident, recover the crown, and take action against the perpetrators,” Indian High Commission in Bangladesh said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed the development.
