Himachal govt announces public holiday on Raksha Bandhan

The Himachal Pradesh government has declared  August 28  a public holiday across the state on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department , the holiday will apply to all departments, boards, corporations, schools, colleges and universities under the state government.

The notification said the holiday had been declared to enable government employees to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. The order was issued with the approval of the Chief Secretary to the Himachal Pradesh government.The notification has been circulated to administrative departments, Deputy Commissioners, heads of departments, educational institutions, public sector bodies and other concerned authorities for necessary action.
