Hemant Soren, leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Thursday at Morabadi Ground. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Soren at around 4 p.m.
This marks Soren’s fourth term as chief minister. He retained the Barhait assembly seat in the recent elections with a margin of 39,791 votes.
The event saw a gathering of prominent leaders from the opposition INDIA bloc, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
