Chandigarh, May 18
The Haryana government has carried out a major reshuffle in the state police administration, transferring 17 Indian Police Service officers and three Haryana Police Service officers in a wide ranging exercise that includes the replacement of the Gurugram Police Commissioner. Senior IPS officer Sibash Kabiraj has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Gurugram, while Vikas Arora has been shifted as Additional Director General of Police Administration in Panchkula.
According to the official order issued by the state Home Department on Sunday night, Sibash Kabiraj, a 1999 batch IPS officer, was earlier serving as Police Commissioner of Panchkula and also held additional charge of Cyber and State Crime Record before being assigned the new responsibility in Gurugram.
Vikas Arora, who had been serving as Gurugram Police Commissioner since July 2024, has now been posted as ADGP Administration in Panchkula.
The reshuffle also includes several senior level changes across key policing wings in the state. M Ravi Kiran, ADGP Karnal Range, has been posted as ADGP State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau. Charu Bali, who was holding the additional charge of this post, has been relieved.
Bali will now take charge as ADGP, Bhondsi Police Complex, in Gurugram, while continuing responsibilities related to the Recruit Training Center at Bhondsi.
K K Rao, ADGP Hisar Range, has been transferred to the ADGP, Recruit Training Center, Bhondsi.
Rakesh Kumar Arya, Inspector General of Police, State Crime Branch, Panchkula, has been moved to the IGP, Crime Branch Headquarters, replacing Sanjay Kumar.
Ashok Kumar, IGP, CID Headquarters, Panchkula, has been appointed as IGP, Karnal Range.
Among other changes, S S Bhoria, Superintendent of Police, Law and Order, at the police headquarters, in Panchkula, will now serve as SP, State Special Task Force, Panchkula, and SP Commando, Newal, Karnal.
In the Haryana Police Service cadre, Siddharth Dhanda, SP Telecom, Panchkula, has been transferred to the SP State Crime Branch Headquarters.
The large scale reshuffle is seen as an administrative exercise aimed at streamlining policing and strengthening key operational and investigative units across Haryana, including urban policing in Gurugram and critical vigilance and crime branches.
